Lisa Alpine will be reading from her anthology, Exotic Life: Laughing Rivers, Dancing Drums and Tangled Hearts, and also speaking about the self-publishing process

 

Lisa is co-author of the Self-Publishing Boot Camp Workbook and workshop series by Good to Go Media, and a book development consultant. She also teaches writing workshops on a plethora of topics from travel writing to book birthing. She is currently working on the Self-Publishing Boot Camp Guidebook to help authors on the path of becoming a small press, and she’s also publishing an anthology of her non-fiction stories, and a book on her dance wisdom. Verna Dreisbach will address the role of the literary agent and the author. Learn how best to choose an agent, how to approach and query an agent, and what happens once a writer is accepted for representation. Verna will reveal some of the most common mistakes a writer makes and share examples of successful queries and book proposals
Verna Dreisbach is an author, educator and literary agent.  Her work has been featured in books, literary journals, magazines, and newspapers. Her Seal Press Anthology, Why We Ride: Women Writers on the Horses in their Lives, is scheduled for release in the spring of 2010, with a foreword written by Jane Smiley.
